The life of the Korean MMORPG Bless has been like a neverending story without any of the ’80s-era whimsy. Readers will remember it first arrived to our half of the globe in 2018 as Bless Online, but had a messy launch mired by corporate merging that ultimately saw it shutter a year later only to return in 2021 as a mobile game. The IP then came back in 2019 as Bless Unleashed, which landed to consoles in 2020 and PC in 2021, though the console version recently unveiled that it’s shutting down by the end of November.Meanwhile, the PC version traded hands to Valofe, which upended its original roadmap, and further decided to go babblingly insane by stating its intention to add blockchain tech… and then not bring it up ever again.Well, those play-to-earn elements are back and in another version of the MMORPG: Bless Global, which is being heralded as the first AAA GameFi MMORPG headed for Android, Apple, and Steam (despite that platform’s tacit refusal to host blockchain games of any kind). Bless EU/NA Status Update 9/13/16 A Message from Product Manager Carsomyr Hi all, I told you that we would make an update after the Gamescom as well as C-Level meetings Neowiz and Aeria had and now I’d like to update you about the current status of the game. Unfortunately, we couldn’t come up with a fix launch date and milestones like close beta tests and open beta tests because the project is bigger than expected and the game needs a couple of tweaks to be able to penetrate the western MMO market and to have a stable and sustainable future in there. We as Aeria Games want to deliver you the best Bless version as possible. The game has a great lore behind its world, solid gameplay and a big potential to become a sustainable and long lasting MMORPG in the western market. In order to make that happen though, we need to deliver a more polished and complete product. We are still talking about what the change needs are and what needs to be done before the game comes to the western market. Here are a couple of things that Neowiz Bless Studio will be working on: Ingame performance: Neowiz Bless Studio is putting the most effort and planning to improve the performance aspects of massive battle contents such as Siege of Castra, Capital War, Raid etc. to provide the players the best gaming environment. Combat System: As many of you might know, the combat system as of now feels unresponsive and the action combat is not on par with current generation action MMORPGs. Neowiz will be working on both tab targeting and action combat systems to have better combat experience in both systems. In the end of the day, combat is a very important aspect of every MMO and needs to feel good to keep players entertained in combat. These are two of many changes, which will come to with the western release of Bless. I understand from a player perspective that it sucks to wait for a game for an indefinite amount of time but on the other hand, it is going to be above your expectations and is going to be a blast once the game is there. These enhancements cost gold, Artifact Shards, and Artifact Cores, with their exact cost dependent upon the item's Fortification level and grade. If the equipment fails to be upgraded, it can break, weakening it, downgrading it by one Fortification level, and requiring its repair. Master Enhancement is rarer and requires the use of star seeds. The drawback of Master Enhancement is that it has a lower chance of successfully upgrading gear compared to Common Enhancement. That said, Master Enhancements that fail impose no penalty, which makes them far safer than Common Enhancements. Unlicensed Enhancements are only accessible at the Outlaw Village. Though upgrading equipment in this way is cheap, it is not without risk: equipment that fails to upgrade through Unlicensed Enhancement can be permanently lost. For many players, that risk is far greater than the reward. Though the enhancement system is complicated, it's part of what keeps this MMO fun. How To Enhance Gear Mechanically, enhancing is easy, so players can get right back to leveling up. To enhance a piece of equipment, the player must interact with an Equipment Specialist and then highlight the piece of equipment they wish to improve. The label "Fortification Available" will then appear, but only if the player has all the required materials. Holding the interact button will Fortify the item, and a prompt will inform the player whether Fortification was successful. If an item is damaged during the upgrade process, Enhancing equipment does not guarantee that the gear will remain intact, however, and failed upgrades can damage gear. The character can purchase repair tools from Limited Time Merchants using Artifact Cores or Star Seeds so that they can get back to that excellent MMO questing.
