Now you can add your engine, but just need to go to the website, right click on the search bar, add the engine to opera, pay attention to the letter(s) that will be associated with a search (change it/them if you're not satisfied) and before a search, use the [letter(s)][space][search query]. With DuckDuckGo, it might just be: "d[space][search query]." All you'd have to remember extra from a normal search DuckDuckGo search is "d [space]." That's not too hard.
