2025-04-16#1 Hey guys,I've just got a GTX 770 and while there is really no need to OC it a lot of us will, just because we can so I was wondering what speeds everyone is getting. I want a nice stable clock and I am currently using EVGA PRECISION X 4.2.1 for OC and EVGA Scanner for testing.I am doing +70 GPU clock, +300 Mem clock, 106% power target and just to be cautious I am setting 85c temp target. I was playing Borderlands 2 with my mate, getting about 110FPS Average (just using fraps and guessing, I will benchmark on a few games to see what I get) and my temps didn't go much higher then 65. Now I am a bit of an OC noob so I am being cautious, should I set the voltages higher? Maybe up the GPU and Mem clocks?Any advise would be great and if anyone has their own clocks that would be great.Edit: I just realised there is a section for overclocking.... does this need moving? Last edited: Mar 7, 2014 #2 Nope this is a fine location. What clocks do you stay at when you are gaming? I am just curious. My boost goes up to ~1250 or so but after I reach 80, it clocks down to ~1240 until it cools. I haven't bothered to overclock though because its stable and fast as is. #3 I have the exact card vario does, the PNY enthusiast oc. (2 fan) Stock base is 1150, guaranteed boost is 1202, mine boosts to 1254 stock, overclocks to game 1313, and benches 1400+. Memory will do 10Ghz. :O #4 I'm on my way home from work now so I will test it when I get back and let you know. #5 Edit: Loaded up precision with the pny. I'll have to play with this a bit lolnice I bumped the fan curve up 5-10% across the board and I don't crack 74*C now.Edit2:new fan curve helps a ton, I stay at 1254 boost clock all the time and didn't pass 73*C in 3dmark11Heres my stock GPU

2025-03-27Marco Polo (1254-1324) was a Venetian merchant, most well-known for his book The Travels, penned while he was a prisoner, after almost a quarter of a century of travelling through Asia in the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. He was born in around 1254, and travelled along the Silk Road, documenting his experiences of fascinating and brand-new cultures which he came across. As well as cultural, social, religious, and language differences, Marco Polo also came across some other interesting things, five of which are outlined below.1. Marco Polo’s Encounter with CrocodilesMosaic of Marco Polo, displayed in the Palazzo Doria-Tursey, Genoa, Italy, 1867, via Historyofinformation.comWe may now think of crocodiles as something we would only see in a wildlife documentary on television, or in a zoo or safari park. However, imagine describing a crocodile to people who had never even heard of one, let alone seen one. That is what Marco Polo had to do when he was on his travels in a place he called Kara-jang, which we now know as Yunnan Province, China. He came across the reptilians and described them as “loathsome creatures”. He went on to add that “their mouth is big enough to swallow a man at one gulp.” The sheer fascination is clear when reading The Travels, although some historians and naturalists have disputed whether this really was a crocodile he was describing, or whether he used some generous poetic licence and sprinkled in some descriptions from Chinese mythical dragons.Medieval depiction of a crocodile from Marco Polo’s time, c. 13th century, via the British LibraryMarco Polo describes the creature as a “serpent”, identifying it as a separate animal from snakes, which he mentions earlier, and is likely already familiar with, having hailed from Europe where there are various native snakes. The descriptions are quite accurate for a crocodile too, and suggest that he has observed them for some time.He also goes on to mention how the natives captured crocodiles in order to sell their gall bladders for a high price. The natives laid down traps where the crocodiles made their way from their dens to the water. In these traps, they placed a razor-sharp steel blade facing towards the crocodile’s den. They would then cover the blade with sand so that it was invisible. When the crocodile made its way down to the water to hunt and feed, it would pierce itself on the blade
