I want to see why a lot of schools use this. Do I have to uninstall Avast! Home Edition before I install McAfee VirusScan Plus or is it compatible? I just want to see why schools use this insted of Avast! Home Edition. In my experience, schools use McAfee and Norton because they don’t know any better. The two schools that I manage use Avast I don’t know if they’re compatible though. If the VirusScan Plus is only an On-Demand scanner, then it shouldn’t be a problem. If it’s real-time, then heck no. Its a very speratic for the securepccleaner web popup but I have had my Google and Yahoo searches constantly redirected. I have McAfee, Spybot and Adware2007 installed and up todate. I spend more time in defense than on the computer.
