What is hplamp.exe doing on my computer? hplamp.exe is a process installed alongside HP Precision and provides additional configuration options for these devices. "This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems." Non-system processes like hplamp.exe originate from software you installed on your system. Since most applications store data on your hard disk and in your system's registry, it is likely that your computer has suffered fragmentation and accumulated invalid entries which can affect your PC's performance. In Windows Task Manager, you can see what CPU, memory, disk and network utilization is causing the HP Precision Scan Module process. To access the Task Manager, hold down the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys at the same time. If you start the software HP Scanning on your PC, the commands contained in hplamp.exe will be executed on your PC. I am using 'HP Scan & Capture' scanning program with an Epson WF-3640 Workforce Printer Scanner. When viewing the scanned document in Adobe acrobat reader DC Version 2015.020.20042 (the latest version) in 'Fit to window width & scroll' mode, some pages appear very small & other pages appear at an appropriate size. If I then go to 'Fit one page to window' mode, all pages appear at the correct size. See screen capture below. I've just checked the page sizes with: Acrobat Reader DC\Right-click on page\Document Properties\Page Size ...Small displayed page: 8.22 x 11.68 inNormal displayed page: 25.67 x 36.50 in.It looks like the pages are scanned at different sizes (even though it was a single double-sided scanning session (through a duplex feeder). Perhaps there is a problem with the 'HP Scan & Capture' scanning program or with the Epson WF-3640 Workforce Printer Scanner? Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Advice much appreciated.

After this installation, I was able to print a test page. Am I done? If so, thank you. It was actually pretty simple. Maybe these instructions should be included with the printer and the install disk thrown away. So, how completely did you get through the software install? Can you find an HP program called ScanPro? Use scanning software that allows you to perform tasks much like the HP Image Zone Express did.
