Jan 1, 2012 Probably doing what a lot of others are right now - looking at their D3 and thinking how much can I get for this???So I downloaded Jeffrey Friedl's EXIF viewer plugin for Lightroom (which is based on Phil Harvey's EXIF Tool) and brought up latest folder of shots - 11980 two days ago.Right... strange.. I've got >50,000 shots with D3 in Lightroom so I went investigating...It seems that since March 2008 and today I have actually taken 74000 shots (or at least activated the shutter that many times).Wierdly, between shooting on 5/30/11 and 6/4/11 the Shutter Count field went from 62703 to 1 !Has anyone else experienced this? I've had the same thing with my D80. Went from about 27,000 to 1. I could actually locate the file where it happened. A few month later the counter went back to the proper value. Still puzzled how that could happen, but it did. In reply to hkb • Jan 1, 2012 Thanks - checked with regex.info and shows same value for both an original NEF and JPG.Can someone use same tool on a shot they know is >62703 shutter count and confirm it shows the number correctly? This would rule out an issue with reading the EXIF data.As far as I can tell from some googling there is a 0xa7 (167) tag which has an unsigned long 4 byte value - so good for 12 or so years of continuous shooting before wrapping!
