2025-04-08When you create a catalog, you create a folder for it, too. The name of the folder is the same as the name of the catalog, without the catalog suffix. For example, if you name the folder "Wedding Photos," the catalog file will be "Wedding Photos.lrcat". When you add photos to the catalog, Lightroom Classic creates a preview cache file (such as "Wedding Photos Previews.lrdata") and puts it in the folder with the catalog. Lightroom Classic resets and displays an empty Library module, ready for you to import photos. When you open a different catalog, Lightroom Classic closes the current catalog and relaunches. You can also change general preferences to specify which catalog opens when Lightroom Classic starts. See Change the default catalog. Upgrade a catalog from an earlier version of Lightroom Classic You can open a catalog from an earlier version of Lightroom Classic, including a beta version in a more recent version of Lightroom Classic. When you do, Lightroom Classic upgrades it. The new, upgraded catalog contains all of the metadata associated with the previous catalog and photos. The catalogs in Lightroom Classic are not backward compatible. The catalog from the new Lightroom Classic version cannot be opened in the older versions. For more information, see Are catalogs in Lightroom Classic backward compatible. However, when you upgrade a catalog, Lightroom Classic will take a backup of the old catalog, compress it, and save it in the "Old Lightroom catalogs" folder. So, after the upgrade, you'll end up with the following files:old-catalog.lrcat (upgraded catalog)old-catalog Previews.lrdata (upgraded old-catalog Previews.lrdata)old-catalog Sync.lrdata (upgraded old-catalog Sync.lrdata)If you want backward compatibility, keep the old files (files not containing - in their names). You can delete the old files when you don't need the backward compatibility. After upgrading to Lightroom Classic 14, if you downgrade to a lower version and again upgrade to 11, Lightroom Classic may not automatically recognize the already upgraded catalog. In this scenario, manually select the already upgraded catalog or upgrade again if necessary. You can rename the catalog by selecting File > Rename Catalog and type the new name of the currently open catalog. Lightroom Classic will rename the catalog once the application is relaunched. Import from previous version lightroom catalog You can import from another catalog from an earlier version of Lightroom Classic, including a beta version, in a more recent version of Lightroom Classic. When you do, Lightroom Classic upgrades it. The new, upgraded catalog contains all of the metadata associated with the previous catalog and photos. Before copying ormoving a catalog and preview files, back them up. You can create a catalog that contains a subset of a larger catalog by selecting the photos and exporting them as a

2025-04-03Their own - they are thus quite different from Photoshop Filter plug-ins which do their own processing and thus need to be recompiled in 64-bit to work in Photoshop CS4 64-bit.--> Does the Plugin work in Lightroom 1.4? The current version of the Plugin is supposed to work in Lightroom 1.3 and 1.4, but with the automatic reimport option disabled as this only works with Lightroom 2. However, there is a bug in the plug-in that makes it fail to export files in Lightroom 1. We will fix this bug in a further version of the plug-in. In the meantime, you can use the older version of our Lightroom Export plug-in which works fine in Lightroom 1.3 and 1.4. The download and installation instructions for it are below: Download here the older version of the Lightroom Export plug-in to Photomatix Pro. Go to the location where you unzipped the downloaded file. Move the folder Photomatix.lrplugin to the following directory depending on your platform: Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3 or C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.4 Mac OS X: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules Restart Lightroom. Select bracketed image files and choose File > Export to Photomatix Pro. I have already installed Photomatix for Windows without the Plugin. How can I now install the Lightroom Plugin alone? The simplest way is to just download and install Photomatix Pro for Windows again, making sure that the box "Yes, install the Lightroom Plugin" is checked during the installation process. Re-installing Photomatix Pro will do no harm, but we still recommend that you first uninstall Photomatix Pro (by using the control panel) before installing again. Note that you will have to close Photomatix in case it is open when you are re-installing it, otherwise the installation will report an error. If you prefer to install the Plugin alone, then you can do this by installing the Plugin manually. In case you prefer to install the plug-in alone, you can download the zip file containing the Photomatix.lrplugin folder by clicking here. -->
