I have adde .iso as an additional extension, so all my iso files do show up in MP. I have also installed Deamon tools (lite), if I mount an Iso file to it MP does play it, but it's kind of impractical to have to manually mount a new file everytime I want to watch a movie...Any suggestions?Never mind! Just didn't look hard enoughFor those who wonder do the following: Config->general->Virtual Drive->check "Automount image files".You need to have Deamon Tools installed.Wow, now I'm really impressed with media portal #2 Hi, and welcome As an alternative to Deamon tools, you can also use Virtual Clone Drive. And yes... MediaPortal 2 Alpha 1 - Winter release! - MEDIAPORTAL

MediaPortal 2 up and running with basic features. Basically we designed MediaPortal 2 to be as user friendly and intuitive as possible. This includes using the most common default settings and the possibility to run and use Media Portal 2 without doing lots of configurations. But of course there are a few minor things to consider. If you do not wish or need to use a feature, you may skip that step or section. If you have not installed MediaPortal 2 yet, see Installing MediaPortal 2.After you have installed MediaPortal 2 successfully you need to configure a few things to get full benefit out of your new HTPC system. We recommend to start with the TV Setup, if you want to use the Live TV and Recording features of MediaPortal 2.The configuration of the TV section nearly is identical to MediaPortal 1. So if you like to follow any existing MediaPortal 1 setup guides or tutorials you normally can use them without changes for MediaPortal 2 too. There only is one notable difference. For MediaPortal 2 you don't have to install and configure a full blown SQL server (MySQL or SQLExpress) as you need it for MediaPortal 1. The database handling is done internally by the MediaPortal 2 Server. So you always can skip all database configuration parts of any MediaPortal 1 tutorials when using them for MediaPortal 2. Read more on Setup TV...Once you have finished the TV setup you're ready to configure the "rest" of your MediaPortal 2 System. Opposite

"Green Button" on a "Windows Media Center" compatible remote. It only will appear if you have a client installed. The other item is the MP2-SystemMonitor and it is changing it's colour with the status of the MediaPortal 2- Server. Red (as above) means, the MediaPortal 2 Server is not running. Green means, the MediaPortal 2 Server is running and grey means the MediaPortal 2 Server is running and at least one client is connected to the server. Sadly the new Wiki will take some more time before it can be published. As we urgently need some recent installation and setup guides I will copy the overworked parts to this thread. The thread will be closed for discussion, so all information will stay together. If a discussion is wanted and or needed, another thread for the discussion can be found here: you find a link that is not working, this part is not jet ported to this thread, so be patient.
