Netgeat wpn111

This might be a bit long but its a very involved story.....sorry I have CenturyLink and they wont upgrade our underground cables so i am constantly on and offline....so I decided to try my old Netgear adapter that ive had in a drawer for 3 yrs. The problem is, I get it all installed and the icon comes up on my desktop, but, when I click it I see a flash of a screen (with fill in spaces in it) and then nothing else happens.....it tried to come on one time and one time only in the browser but never again. I have taken the WPN111 adapter out of the USB plug and tried pluggin it back it to no avail, does the same flash of a screen and then nothing. Also..... I reallly dont want to use CenturyLinks modem because its constantly off and on so how would I go about getting around that obstacle too??

J john_smarty Distinguished Nov 22, 2008 148 0 18,680 Aug 31, 2009 #1 i have a asus 1000HA and i am trying to install a netgear wpn111 stick on to the netbook i have the latetest drivers installed, the utility never seems to work,anyways when i go in to networks (win xp) it doesnt show up as a adapter. i can repeat the process it never works. is their anything i am doing wrong ? It has an ATT hotspot sim card but will not connect to the internet. I suspect I have wrong APN settings. Can anyone provide the correct APN settings for ATT? ATT can not. Thanks. If you control the router you could temporarily change the encryption back to wep or none. Or you could use a cable and cable it to a router.If neither of those is a option you are going to have to download the patch with another computer and then use a USB drive or DVD to move it between the machines. If you dig around on microsofts site you will find the files used for offline patching.You might as well download the complete sp3 patch since there are other security patches you want also.
