Reltek sound not working - Microsoft Community
I have a Maxius VII Hero Mother Board. Uses Realtek audio onboard.I upgraded to Win10 and the audio does not work.It was working partially. I believe I went to some sites and heard audio.I then tried to play an older game and noticed no sound. Then I noticed no sound anywhere.I tried a new game, no sound. I went into settings and Mange Audio Devices and de-selected Realtek HD Audio.Tried the game again, no sound. I reselected it as default, then the sound came on and worked for that game.I bailed out of the game and went to a website, no sound on youtube. Then I spent hour looking online what other had to say about similar issues. I tried installing, re-installing the driver, re-booting, etc, - no success.I did notice one interesting thing. In Device Manager, the date and version of the driver was 6/17/2014 and 6.0.1.7272. Which is puzzling since Win10 says that is the latest. If I go to the ASUS Reltek area and download the driver that says it is 7/8/15 and 6.0.1.7525 and install it, the Device Manager still says 6/17/2014 and 6.0.1.7272. This is crazy. Did it not change? Then I tried to uninstall the driver from Device Manager. It displayed the Device Driver info for the Realtek device blank. I then re-booted, went to look what was in device manager, and now it says 7/8/15 and 6.0.1.7525.Also, in the event window for Device Manager, it shows the followingnotice there is a line that says device not migrated. I have not been able to get clear info on this. Somebody says that that is ok as long as there is a line that follows that says device installed. Bad or OK?Anyway, I see that there are a lot of people having noise issues after upgrading. Forum Video Subtitle Vobsub (or just sup??) for HDPlayer Thread--> Member I'm using HDplayer, with Reltek Chipset. These players can display srt and vobsub. Yet the oulline of the SRT in these players are quite thin, making it quite difficult to read, and sometime the subtitle line needs a different alignment from the rest to avoid covering important part of the picture. To my knowledge, txt2vobsub and subtitle creator can make vobsub files from srt. Outputs of the former is displayed fine in the player while output of the latter (SC) is not shown. I think the reason is because of the color palette. Txt2vobsub doesn't support HD picture, and the subtitle looks quite ugly on HD movies. I find a modded SC version that supports HD, but I can't get the created vobsub shown in the HDplayer. If you know the right color palete for SC or if you know about another app that supports creating vobsub and HD resolution, pls help me. Member You could try AviAddXSubs. On Configuration 1 Tab you can select either XSub or to create idx/sub pair. It has a Custom size setting for subtitle bitmap. On Configuration 2 Tab there's a check box for YUV values in idx/sub color palette that should help avoid florescent pink subs. I just used it to create an idx/sub from .srt for a 720P mkv. It played fine. I didn't even think to upsize using the custom size setting and it looked good. For 1080P I might have to use it but I haven't gotten that far yet. I have WD HDTV player for USB and like yours, .srt subs display way too small at the max setting. idx/sub looks much better. And of course you can set the font and size, and border size. On my WD player making the border thicker had no effect, but your player may recognize the setting. Even so just having the larger font made the subs much easier to read. Member I knew AviAddXsubs when it was released to make .divx files with subtitles. But I didnot know it evolved to include the feature I've been looking for. Thanks for reminding me.I tested it and it works for me (720p). It has no preview feature and no vobsub muxing function though. Somehow VobsubMuxer can't mux two idx/sub outputs from this one, saying "there are more than 32 (??) subtitles." --> Last edited by qknet; 27th Dec 2010 at 20:33. Member I did notice now and then some strange errors. But I've just started using it myself for idx/sub production. So my experience is very limited. With my WD player external files tend to work better than muxed. So I either use external subComments
