My Search Removal - Remove My Search Easily! - Security

I just got my fantastic new dell yesterday and have been busy removing all of the bobo "media experience" type programs that I don't need or want taking up all of my precious memory. however when I removed the program "My Way Search Assistant" (via "Add or Remove Programs") it remained in the dialog box, sans "remove" button. this bothered me. I couldn't find any worthwhile help online about this so I'm writing this here in the hopes that it helps some other people. here are my conclusions & fix to the problem... 1. removing the program via "Add or Remove Programs" actually does remove it, but leftover registry keys are holding on for dear life... not for long! 2. this is different then the windows "Search Assistant", which I believe is the dog thing that you can get rid of by going to search and "change preferences" and clicking "without an animated screen character". I wish they included a "kill animated screen character" button too but I take what I can get. 3. therefore, I did the following and it worked for me: back up the registry, then run regedit and search for "search assistant" - you'll likely find several results but on my machine there was only a few that had to do with the "my way" search assistant, and they were in here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer you can also try searching for this - 7D449D87B79A4004BAA05BDA60389904 - because this seems to be the identifying key, value, or number, or whatever. maybe it's different for other machines, I don't know. at any rate, I deleted these keys that were located in the various "installer" locations and bingo, it's gone from the "add/remove programs" and my computer is ok with that. I'm ok with that too. best of luck!. My Search removal tools can remove My Search by protecting true time installing of My Search on machine. PIN Lock is available only if your company has integrated with an MDM system and if this feature is supported by your MDM system and mobile device. Mobile devices typically include a locking feature that enables you to lock your screen after a set time period to prevent unauthorized access. To use this feature, you must define an access code, or PIN, which is required to unlock the device. Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. I usually use Safari and Google Chrome as my Search Browser's. I use google to search but it seems to redirect to a different search engine (For Google Chrome it redirects to yahoo and Safari it redirects to a couple of domains but ultimately lands on safesearch.com). When I switch the default search engine to duckduckgo, yahoo, etc, it doesn't seem to redirect to the domains (Only Google). I ran the MalwareBytes scan but it didnt find anything suspicious. I read the Removing "Search Marquis" / "Search Baron… - Apple Community article and provided the screenshots, but ultimately I don't know what I'm looking for in these files and if they are considered malicious. The list of the folders are as follows:~/Library/LaunchAgents/Library/LaunchDaemons/Library/LaunchAgents MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.1 Posted on Nov 28, 2024 1:38 PM Browser redirects on Safari and Google Chrome

Nothing happens. And in Nightly it just performs a Google search with that string. How is this supposed to work? Opening the bookmarks page navigates away from the current page. Even then, selecting the bookmark does nothing. Works in Firefox, not Chrome. Android.1. Bookmark any page, making a dummy2. Menu > Bookmarks > edit3. Change URL of dummy bookmark to the js bookmarklet code.4. Visit any site.5. Menu > Bookmarks > tap on the bookmarklet6. Widget appears on bottom right of pageIt doesn't work on HN(?) But does work on other sites. Step 5 onwards don't work on private tabs for some reason. For private tabs you can do all steps up to 4 and then:5. Tap on the URL bar6. Type part of the name of the bookmark you chose until it appears in search (in my case eruda works)7. Tap the bookmarletFor this to work you need to have bookmark search enabled in settings: Settings -> Search -> Search bookmarksAlso, there seem to be many sites where the widget doesn't appear, but you can try it at google.com. If you're on Android and want eruda, I've got a userscript to load it on every site here: helps with things like removing elements because you can see the DOM and it's fewer clicks away and easier to use than ublock, which doesn't show the DOM in the little box provided for element removal and only allows removing one item say a time (you can use multiple selectors, but every time you tap an element to get the selector it overwrites the existing content) I'll sometimes go through the trouble of using `data:text/html,`, but that is impressively replete. This is awesome. I hope there is a way to auto load a script so I can make some simple extensions. I
