I took it to the Genius Bar & he said it might be malware. He ran AdwareMedic and did not find any malware. He then said to reinstall Yosemite OS 10.10.2...which I did, and am still unable to either click into (& therefore) type anything in the Safari address bar. This is particularly frustrating as I have to set Google as my home page (& always go back to the home page to search for anything / go to a specific website).Hope someone has another fix. Thanks! 2025-04-10Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Hi guys,Here's a conundrum. I have a brand new Macbook with the latest Yosemite of course. Just got it this week. Everything runs great, including Safari. However, Safari keeps getting listed on the battery pull down as using significant energy. I did have a few extensions when I first noticed this so I turned them off one by one until none were on. I restarted it each time (Safari, not the laptop), but it still said it's using significant energy on a bare bones setup. Not sure what's going on. It isn't a tremendous amount of energy and it's completely doable for now. And I know El Capitan is coming out in four days anyway which will probably change that. But just in case it doesn't: anyone here have a reason/idea of what's going on?Just curious and thanks for any help. 🙂 MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5) Posted on Sep 25, 2015 11:28 PM Safari Using Significant Resources?
