This excellent event is sponsored by the Battle in Rocky Top National Championship Youth Football Tournament, which will be held over the same weekend. Read on for everything you need to know about the premiere cheer competition in Gatlinburg TN. When and Where The Battle in Rocky Top Cheer Competition will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2016. The tournament will be held at Rocky Top Sports World, an 80 acre sports campus in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. Just 15 minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg, Rocky Top is located at 1870 Sports World Blvd. Tournament Divisions The Cheer Competition in Gatlinburg TN is open to any youth cheerleading squad in the United States that cheers for a youth football team or school. The majority of the squads are affiliated with a football team playing in the Battle in Rocky Top National Championship. However, a cheer squad is not required to have a football team in the tournament to compete. All cheer squads participating in the competition must have at least four athletes and no more than twenty. There will be four age divisions for the Battle in Rocky Top Cheer Competition:5 – 78 – 910 – 1112 – 14Age category is determined by the average age of all the girls competing in the squad. If there happens to be a shortage of teams in one division, the age categories may be restructured. Awards All first place squads will receive a team trophy and individual medals that will be awarded at the end of the competition.
