Sync. Manager Rules is used to keep denormalized data across multiple tables where the existing Table-To-Table Synchronization Rules and Table-Internal Synchronization Rules are not sufficient:Modifying the primary key of a table all associated columns in other tables. To mask unique combinations data consistently, i.e. every "Alan Smith" becomes "Anita Radcliffe" in all tables, regardless whether there is a specific link between the tables. When we are masking across multiple tables with no enforced relationship (e.g. no Primary Key-Foreign Key relationship between the tables). However, the approach to creating a Sync. Manager Rule is always the same:Creating either a Substitution Rule, or a Row-Internal Rule, for the column, or columns that you wish to synchronize. Ensure that the rule does not have a WHERE clause.Go to the Change Managers tab and select Convert to Sync. Manager Rule.ExampleGiven name information is scattered among multiple tables (Customers, Orders, Employees), but most of the information is contained within the Customers table the best place to start is a Substitution Rule on the Customers table:Mask the CustomerName column with Names, First+Last, Male+Female.Go to the "Where Clause and Sampling" tab and select "No Where Clause".Go to the "Change Managers" tab and select Convert to Sync. Manager Rule.Open the resulting Sync. Manager Rule and go to the "Rule Generation By Column":Search for the column name: %Name.Select the Employees.EmployeeName and Orders.CustomerName columns and click "Add Marked".This will result in new rules in the "Sync. Rules" page.Save the Sync. Manager Rule. After running this masking set the tables might look like:CustomersBEFOREAFTERID...CustomerNameCustomerName676...Stephen SmithMark Walsh12361...Alice JonesHannah Fehrs12678...Lisa RobertsonMary WiseOrdersBEFOREAFTERID...CustomerNameCustomerName123543...Stephen SmithMark Walsh213123...James StoneCraig Anderson345673...Leigh StephensonJune GrayEmployeesBEFOREAFTERID...CustomerNameCustomerName123...James StoneCraig Anderson167...Alice JonesHannah Fehrs230...George KirkBarry DavidsonCore conceptsThe structure of a Sync. These are not editable.Either a Substitution Rule or a Row Internal Rule, based on the rule that was converted into the Sync. It is not possible to edit the "Columns to Synchronize" or the "Join Columns" in this rule.A Foreign Key Manager Rule to enable the keys that were disabled earlier. A Command Rule to drop the temporary table at the end. Are you a cloud architect or IT admin tasked with ensuring deployments are following best practices and generating configuration validation reports? The struggle of adopting best practices is real. And not just the first time: ensuring that a config doesn’t drift from org-wide best practices over time is notoriously difficult. Workload Manager provides a rule-based validation service for evaluating your workloads running on Google Cloud. Workload Manager scans your workloads, including SAP and Microsoft SQL Server, to detect deviations from standards, rules, and best practices to improve system quality, reliability, and performance. .Introducing custom rules in Workload ManagerToday, we’re excited to extend Workload Manager with custom rules (GA), a detective-based service that helps ensure your validations are not blocking any deployments, but that allows you to easily detect compliance issues across different architectural intents. Now, you can flexibly and consistently validate your Google Cloud deployments across Projects, Folders and Orgs against best practices and custom standards to help ensure that they remain compliant. Here’s how to get started with Workload Manager custom rules in a matter of minutes.1) Codify best practices and validate resourcesIdentify best practices relevant to your deployments from the Google Cloud Architecture Framework, codify them in Rego, a declarative policy language that's used to define rules and express policies over complex data structures, and run or schedule evaluation scans across your deployments. Start with sample Rego policies in our GitHub repository: can create new Rego rules based on your preferences, or reach out to your account team to get more help crafting new rules.2) Export findings to BigQuery dataset and visualize them using LookerYou can configure your own BigQuery dataset to export each validation scan and easily integrate it with your existing reporting systems, build a new Looker dashboard, or export results to Google Sheets to plan remediation steps. Additionally, you can configure Pub/Sub-based notifications to send email, Google Chat messages, or integrate with your third-party systems based on different evaluation success criteria.A flexible system to do more than typical config validationWith custom rules you can build rules with complex logic and validation requirements across multiple domains. You can delegate build and management to your subject matter experts, reducing development time and accelerating the time to release new policies. And with central BigQuery table export, you can combine violation findings from multiple evaluations and easily integrate with your reporting system to build a central compliance program.Get started today with custom rules in Workload Manager by referring to the documentation and testing sample policies against your deployments.Need more help? Section Configuring the Oracle Database Server for Oracle Connection Manager of this guide explains how to register the database with Oracle Connection Manager. Note:Static routing is not supported by Oracle connection manager in tunnelling mode. 10.5 Using Oracle Connection Manager as a Bridge for IPv4 and IPv6 In some database connection environments, a client and database may use different versions of the IP protocol so that complete connectivity does not exist. In this case, at least two hops in the connection use different versions of the IP protocol. For example, a request passes from an IPv4 source to an IPv6 destination, from an IPv6 source to an IPv4 destination, or from IPv6 to IPv6 through an IPv4 network. You can use Oracle Connection Manager as a network bridge between IPv4 and IPv6. To serve as a bridge, Oracle Connection Manager must run on a dual-stack host configured with at least one IPv4 interface and at least one IPv6 interface. Use the Oracle Connection Manager filtering feature to filter based on an IPv6 address. You can base rules on complete or partial IP addresses. The following figure shows the format of an IPv6 address: The numbers at the top of the diagram indicate the number of bits in the address. Each hexadecimal character in an IPv6 address represents 4 bits. Bits 4-16 are the Top-Level Aggregation Identifier (TLA ID) portion of the address. Bits 25-49 are the Next-Level Aggregation Identifiers (NLA ID). For example, in the address 2001:0db8::203:BAFF:FE0F:C74B, the binary representation of the first four hexademical characters (2001) is as follows:

Testing security rules helps ensure that the network's security posture is robust and effective against potential threats. Security rules define how traffic is handled and controlled within the network. Testing these rules ensures that your security rules appropriately allow and deny traffic and access to applications and websites in compliance with your business needs and requirements. We provide tools that let you simulate traffic flow based on a specific set of conditions defined in a security rule. By entering the necessary parameters such as source and destination IP addresses, ports, and applications, you can simulate the traffic flow and observe how your configuration would process it based on the configured security rules. This provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of the Security policy, which lets you verify if the security actions you intend, such as allowing or denying traffic, are correctly applied as per the security rules. You can also identify any misconfigurations or conflicts that might affect the policy's behavior. Regularly testing security rules is essential for maintaining an efficient security posture. It enables you to adapt security rules to changing network requirements and evolving threat landscapes. By conducting thorough tests and fine-tuning security rules accordingly, you can ensure that your configuration

Parent page: Defining, Scoping & Managing PCB Design RulesDo I have the Constraints Editor or the Constraint Manager?Note that if the Constraint Manager functionality was available at the moment of creating the PCB project (provided you have the System.ConstraintManager option enabled in the Advanced Settings dialog), the Constraint Manager is used to define design constraints for that project. In this case, the PCB Rule and Constraints Editor dialog, and hence, the Constraints Editor, will not be available in the PCB editor. Otherwise, only the previous approaches to define design constraints (design directives and the PCB Rule and Constraints Editor dialog / Constraints Editor) can be used.To quickly check which approach to defining design constraints is used in the current PCB project, open the project's PCB document, click the Design main menu, and check which command is available: Constraint Manager – the Constraint Manager is used for this project. Rules – the PCB Rule and Constraints Editor dialog is used for this project. From this dialog, you can switch to the Constraints Editor described on this page. The Constraints Editor is a document-based user interface that offers an alternative approach for viewing, creating, and managing the design constraint rules used for your PCB layouts. The editor is arranged into six selectable rule sections of increasing priority – Nets, Diff Pairs, xSignals, Polygons, Components, and Advanced. In this arrangement, the first five sections (Nets to Components) represent a design object view of the rules, while the Advanced view section applies to more complex. Rules Manager. Manager RuleWhen you create a Sync. Manager Rule you will see that it is a collection of other rules:Command Rules that create a populate a temporary table to hold the distinct values to mask. These are not editable.Either a Substitution Rule or a Row Internal Rule, based on the rule that was converted into the Sync. Manager Rule. This applies the mask that was configured in the original rule but on the new temporary table.A Foreign Key Manager rule to disable foreign keys (if the rule is changing part of a primary key)A Table-To-Table Synchronization rule that copies the data from the temporary table back to the original table. It is not possible to edit the "Columns to Synchronize" or the "Join Columns" in this rule.A Foreign Key Manager Rule to enable the keys that were disabled earlier. A Command Rule to drop the temporary table at the end. This is not editable. The temporary table that is constructed consists of:DMSIdentityCol - a primary key for the table so subsequent rules will work correctly against the table. The column name(s) that have

Engage with your account teams to get more help in crafting, curating and adopting best practices. Posted inCompute
