December 6, 2010, 7:27am 1 About every day for the past week our spiceworks server has been locking up. Not the whole server, just the spiceworks program. When I look at the server we have spiceworks-finder.exe eating up 300-500 MB of RAM. Once I kill the spiceworks-finder programs it unlocks the program. I have checked my network scans, and reduced them to the bare minimum. I’m assuming there’s a way to find out which scan is eating up all the resources, but I can’t seem to track it down. November 8, 2015, 12:21pm 1 Hello,i’ll try to be as short as possible.My Organization running spiceworks for 2 years.we are running on spiceworks latest version 7.4.0119recently we are experiencing a serious performance issues which becomingworse every week.the situation now is that the server become unresponsive almost once a day andcan’t be reached until it’s being rebooted.I must Emphasize that there is no lack of resources for this server it’sbeing monitored with VMware and resource monitor and there is no evidence for peeksor high usage. in addition i’m not using and assed monitoring/ scanning which mightcould explain the issue.we have 6 admins that logging in once a while and around 150 tickets a day but nothing substantial.The server is running o VMWARE Environment and we’ve recently added overheadresources to it which didn’t help at all (4 cores / 24gb Memory) no disk latency issues or shortage.Any ideas? thanks Ronen. Look in Settings > Cloud Services > Show Additional Settings.Some additional helpful reference material to assist with performance issues with Spiceworks: would also send an email to [email protected] to send them your log files where they can look for any specific errors. There is a possibility running Spiceworks for 2 years that there may be a corruption in the Database. If that’s the case, they can usually get things repaired without problems. If you get that process started, that will give you some time while they are looking into things to verify your settings, exempt Spiceworks from AV/Endpoint protection, etc., and go through the links above.
