2025-04-06December 16, 2019, 4:41pm 1 Hello everyone,Needing help. Currently, we do have one ticket system running for marketing group, However, a new department is looking into to have their own ticket system. What are the requirements and cost involved? are there any fees for using spiceworks ticket system? Rod-IT (Rod-IT) December 16, 2019, 4:53pm 2 Spiceworks is completely free, both cloud and self-hostedTo run multiple departments in-house you need separate installs (for windows version), if you use the Ubuntu OVA, then you can use organization (same with cloud), but only one email address If you are only using it for ticketing, I would say use either one. If you are going to do anything that may be computer inventory tracking, I would suggest the premise version instead of the cloud. With the cloud version, the agent has to be installed in order to gather information about your devices; however, in using the premise version, the agent is needed only for monitoring a devices and is not needed for inventory, but you need a box to install it on. The box does not have to be a powerhouse.

2025-04-09December 6, 2010, 7:27am 1 About every day for the past week our spiceworks server has been locking up. Not the whole server, just the spiceworks program. When I look at the server we have spiceworks-finder.exe eating up 300-500 MB of RAM. Once I kill the spiceworks-finder programs it unlocks the program. I have checked my network scans, and reduced them to the bare minimum. I’m assuming there’s a way to find out which scan is eating up all the resources, but I can’t seem to track it down. Anyone have any experience with this? scub (hsc5775) December 6, 2010, 8:01am 2 what SW version runs? mic53786324 (Mic5378) December 6, 2010, 8:14am 3 5.0, the latest as far as I know. scub (hsc5775) December 6, 2010, 8:24am 4 and the hardware?you can look hereSpeeding up spiceworks briang (Brian G (Spiceworks)) December 10, 2010, 10:16am 5 Would you be willing to send us a debug dump of the application while it is stuck? On which OS did you install Spiceworks? For Windows 7 and Server 2008 this is easy. Open the task manager when Spiceworks-finder stops responding, find the spiceworks-finder.exe process, right-click, and select “Create Dump File” to create the dump file (.dmp).For the other Windows XP and Server 2003 you need to install the Microsoft User Mode Process Dumper tool available from Once installed, follow the instructions under “To create a dump file for a hanging process” in this article Use Userdump.exe to create a dump file - Windows Server | Microsoft Learn in order to create the dump file (.dmp). Remember, get the dump file while Spiceworks finder has stopped responding.Once you have created the dump file, PM me and I will respond with how to send the file directly to me along with your logs. coreymielke2271 (Corey Mielke - Miles Kimball) January 17, 2011, 12:57pm 6 I’m having the exact same problem.
