Thea for Rhino - Thea Render
Hi folks,Solid Iris Technologies the maker of Thea Render published their new Fusion 360 live plug-in.It is a pretty fantastic and easy to use plug-in and render software suitable for product designers and engineerswho need to quickly make realistic renderings. In a nutshell this is are Thea's key featrues:Export selective or all objects from Fusion including refreshing later design changes inside Fusion 360Very powerful render modesEasy to use and powerful matertial systemCPU and GPU for interactive preview and finale image rendering for incredibly fast render performanceDifferent render modes for indoor/outdoor and realtime image adjustmentsCan be used on a network with other Thea studio instances as render slavesHere is a small demo of the different steps and options:1. Export your scene to Thea Renderer:Here you can set-up orientation, tesselation level, selective object or full scene export, and other options.2. Thea Scene Set-Up: In this image you can see, that the plug-in maintains the object position, name, and basic material properties.Thea features a very efficient interface with the object browser left, the render space in the center, and material and editors right.Via drag n drop you can apply different materials onto the objects. On the right you see the new metallic material I appliedto the UAV. Thea offers a very unique visual presentation of material types explaining layering and light bounce directions.3. Geometry Update:You can send design changes or joint studies to your Thea render scene by using the Thea Refresh option inside Fusion 360.There you can also select a different tessellation value or if you would like to update only one object or the complete scene in Thea.As you can see object positions will be updated while in Thea applied materials remain.Thea offers via an infinite ground plane set to shadow catcher and HDRI image based lighting a very easy way to

Set up basic studio renderings.4. Scene Design and Interactive Rendering:Thea offers also a powerful physical sky illumination option to render out-door scene. The interactive render engine can use the CPU and GPU together providing you nearly instant finished results. Real time effects such as sharpness or burn adjustment, vignetting, or CRF camera film simulation can be activated to style your rendering.Real time rendering previews can also already be saved into images.5. Finale Rendering - Dark Room:For finale rendering Thea offers a dark room where render modes (indoor outdoor and such), image effects and other settings can be set. Thea Studio has the ability to render on a network using other Thea Studio instances as slaves. But you can see that this image at 1600*1200 only took 42 seconds to render with using two NVIDIA GTX 970.I beta tested the new live plug-in and it works incredibly well.Thea Render offers everything a designer or engineer needs with fantastic results. You can get free trials for the Render Studio and the live Plug-in at their website: Claas KuhnenFaculty Industrial Design – Wayne State UniversitChair Interior Design – Wayne State UniversityOwner studioKuhnen – product : interface : designSKETCHUP RENDER TUTORIAL- THEA RENDER EN SKETCHUP thea render

I checked the activity monitor for Sketchup (my modelling software) while rendering an image and saw some crazy CPU numbers.Captura de pantalla 2024-01-05 a la(s) 12.12.34 p.m.1284×142 34.5 KBIt is important to mention that as soon as I stop rendering, the number drops. What is the problem? why the number are so high? Please help!!! I need to finish some projects urgently!!!! Last edited: Jan 5, 2024 #2 You most likely have CPU with 10 or 12 cores. The >1000% in the Activity Monitor means that most of your CPU cores are utilized by Thea which means ~10x100%.Unfortunately when running Presto there is no way to control the number of cores it uses on a specific device. It always uses them all.Do you use Intel Denoiser available in Display settings? It beautifully resolves Thea renders even when the input image is quite dark and noisy.Just remember enabling it before rendering, so Thea knows that Oidn will be denonising later. It will give a better result than turning it on post-rendering.I tested it on my Mac Mini which is 8 cores M1. Here is a result of the Ballroom scene after 1 minute of rendering: #3 Hi! Thanks for your responseI do have intel denoiser activated, and it has really helped me out. Regards to the image, rendering in my computer takes a lot more time to get close to that quality. In fact, I was told to test Thea Benchmark, and obtained a value which suggested a low performance. Can my computer be the problem? What I'm doing wrong? How can I enhance the performance? #4 It should render definitely faster than M1 with 8 cores. Do you render with Presto? We will do a test on M2Thea for Rhino v4.0 Thea Render
Thea Render has released a Blender add-on which provides tight integration into the Blender workflow. From the announcement:Thea Render is an exceptional quality external rendering solution that is now integrated on Blender as tight as possible. Features such as interactive rendering, materials editing, instancing support make it possible to work inside Blender creating astonishing results with a smooth workflow between Blender and Thea Render. In addition, we have taken the decision to release the plugin under GPL (open source) that, we believe, fits the spirit of Blender development itself.Link Thea for Blender About the Author I have a LONG history with Blender - I wrote some of the earliest Blender tutorials, worked for Not a Number and helped run the crowdfunding campaign that open sourced Blender (the first one on the internet!). I founded BlenderNation in 2006 and have been editing it every single day since then ;-) I also run the Blender Artists forum and I'm Head of Community at Sketchfab.Thea Benchmark for Windows - Thea Render
January 3, 2018, 4:24pm 1 Hiya, I am new to the vray rendering system. Would someone be able to tell me what the rendering time is on average (approx.)Thank you very much Its completely different and depends 100% on the hardware setup you have.I am using Thea instead of Vray but the principal is the same. Nowadays you specifically want to be rendering from the GPU rather then the CPU (both really) if you want to go quick. Both of my GPU’s have 2816 cores, much more than my CPU that has 6 for example.Depending on how the render is setup for the hardware and also what you are rendering (once you add lights, volumetric’s and reflection’s it will eat up even more processing power). Here is an example, I rendered this image first on my PC using a GTX 680 card and it took 26 hours at 8000px. I re-rendered it again using my MSI 6GB GTX 980Ti and it only took 5 hours. If you are on a laptop you can expect much lower speeds than a desktop, also if you are on a MAC you can generally expect much lower speeds than a PC (but in both cases it’s possible to spend a very large amount of money to upgrade them). If you want to take it a step further you can even create a small render farm or use a cloud solution. But everybody will be different (by hours or even days) depending on what hardware you have. Like.
