Larger items like tree limbs and shrubs, when cut into manageable pieces, also qualify. By recycling these natural elements, we not only keep them out of landfills but also contribute to a healthier ecosystem. What is NOT acceptable for yard waste?Non-organic materials such as plastic bags, weed barrier, pots, and plant tags should never be included, as they cannot decompose and contaminate the composting process. Additionally, treated or painted wood, including old fencing and garden furniture, is not suitable due to potentially harmful chemicals. Rocks, soil, dirt, and food waste also fall outside the scope of yard waste recycling. Pet waste and invasive plant species are other notable exclusions, as they can introduce pathogens and
